Passionate about Engineering, Design and Art
Hi, I'm Alexis!
I am creative, passionate and light hearted. I've always been logic-minded yet love doing art, so I bring a unique perspective to the table. There aren't many careers where you can combine math and science with art, so naturally I fell into Mechanical Engineering and haven't questioned my decision to major in it since. I have taken art and music classes at Northeastern alongside engineering, to expand on my creativity. I want to pursue a career in consumer product design, or related field. This would best allow me to use my art and design skills in conjunction with engineering. I am currently a 5th year and will be graduating in May 2021.
I pride myself on my reliability and punctuality, and when I'm really passionate about something I pursue it with a lot of conviction. I'm both introverted and extroverted- I like to be independent but also like to work in teams. I am trustworthy and care about others.
In my free time I spend a lot of time hanging out with friends, and I really enjoy music and art. Currently I am on the Northeastern Women's Club Ultimate Frisbee team. I also have a background in rowing- I rowed all throughout High School and was a coxswain on the Northeastern Women's Rowing team my freshman year of college. Other activities I enjoy are racing my car, skiing, interior design, and playing the piano and trumpet.
In High School I was on my school's FIRST Robotics team. This is where I got a lot of my initial exposure to engineering, and it played a major role in deciding my career path. I was able to gain a lot of manufacturing as well as design skills, especially learning the design process from start to finish, and using SolidWorks.
